Elegantly decorated in dark woods and glass, Jewel of the Seas is reminiscent of a traditional ocean liner - but with a modern twist as there's a rock climbing wall and golf simulator on board. The streamlined design allows this 2,112-passenger ship to navigate the Panama Canal, something its larger sisters can't do.

Public spaces are well laid out with the reception, photo gallery and gift shops clustered around the soaring, nine-deck high atrium known as the Centrum. The daily schedule is packed with activities designed for all ages, from galley tours to art auctions. An expansive kids club provides educational activities; while teens have their own dedicated space with a disco, juice bar and Internet café.

Accommodation on Jewel of the Seas is spread over four decks and comes in a range of choices, from Inside Staterooms to Oceanview Staterooms; Balcony Staterooms; Junior Suites; and Suites. There are also Family Staterooms that sleep up to six as well as Two-Bedroom Suites that can accommodate eight. Virtually every cabin category provides handicapped-accessible staterooms.

The main dining room, Tides, is a sweeping, two-deck high space where you can choose traditional dining, in which you are seated at the same table throughout the cruise, or 'My Time Dining', when you can arrive anytime during dinner hours to be seated at the next available table. The Windjammer buffet restaurant features a series of tempting food stations and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Other options are the Seaview Café and Solarium Café.

Alternative dining on Jewel of the Seas offers plenty of options such as Chops Grille for succulent cuts of meat or Portofino for gourmet Italian selections. Evening options run the gamut from Broadway-style production shows to movies and live bands.
