Launched in 2007, Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas is a lavish, resort-style ship, packed with activities, bars, restaurants and entertainment for all the family. The ship sails in the Caribbean; to Bermuda; and along the East Coast of the USA and Canada and provides a great base from which to explore.
In the balmy Caribbean, children will love the H20 Zone, a colourful waterpark on deck with interactive fountains - the perfect place to cool off. Active cruisers will enjoy the huge gym, complete with boxing ring, the climbing wall, the surf simulator and a game of volleyball on the Sports Court. Alternatively, indulge yourself in the Liberty Day Spa or lounge in one of the amazing whirlpools, cantilevered out over the side of the ship with dizzying views of the sea below.
Liberty has a wide variety of bars and restaurants. In addition to eating in the elegant Botticelli, Michelangelo and Rembrandt dining rooms, there's plenty of choice for a small cover charge. Try Chops Grille or Portofino for fine dining, or choose an authentic Italian pizza from Sorrento's. Children will love the burgers, fries and shakes from Johnny Rocket's, a 1950s-style diner, while for a wide selection of wines by the glass, Vintages is the place to pass some time.
Some of the many entertainment venues include the Hoof and Claw Pub, the glitzy Casino Royale and a lively nightclub. Don't miss the lavish parades along the Royal Promenade, the main boulevard through the centre of the ship. As well as the performers from the Platinum Theatre, you'll spot characters here from Dreamworks, among them Kung Fu Panda and Shrek, thanks to Royal Caribbean's association with the company.
Liberty is unusual in that some of its inside cabins overlook the Royal Promenade, giving you a bird's eye view of the action. Or choose a balcony cabin, with your own private outside space, or splash out on a luxurious suite.
